Cathedral / Royal Chapel

The Cathedral of Granada projected in the year 1505 on the former major Mosque of the city, by the Queen Isabel the Catholic one, is dedicated to Santa Maria de la Encarnación and his monumental importance takes root in being the first church of Renaissance style in Spain.

They entrusted his construction at the beginning of the 16th century to Enrique Egas, who conceived a temple of Gothic style on the model of the Cathedral of Toledo. Thus, the works began with the solemn placement of the first stone on March 25, 1523
